A native, Illinoisan, Janet Kay’s work reflects her passion for photographing people filtered through her keen eye. Her Corporate Headshots, Stylized Portraits, Commercial, and Hair Series demonstrate her sharp visual sense and ability to capture her subject’s personality and inner life. Her images are engaging and dramatic, reflecting intimate or staged moments that reveal the playful and expressive aspects of her subjects. ‘Behind the Scenes’ reveals a glimpse of Janet’s personality and the positive energy you will experience during your session. She has cited Mary Ellen Matthews and John Russo as influences to her work, as well as taking photos of her family and friends as a child.

Janet offers on-location sessions serving the Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin areas. From prairies and rolling hills, to boardwalks and boardrooms, iconic skylines, and quaint towns, Janet provides her clients with a myriad of backdrops that artfully set the scene.
Outside of photography, you can find Janet teaching, volunteering in her community, walking her dogs, coaching basketball, tending to her family she so dearly loves and supporting her vast circle friends, all while toasting life's greatest moments sipping a glass of bubbly. She loves meeting new people, mentoring beginning photographers and collaborating with fellow creatives.
